Dom: webpage is decent. Presentation of your work is well placed.

Elliot: the website is well made with custom backgrounds and logo, the pictures taken are well done and the graphics made are well designed. Everything is well placed and the website looks good.

Oskar and Damon: Design was good but a bit cheesy and over the top.  I especially liked the fact that you used your very own logo design. Although, I have noticed a few errors in the writing, nothing too major though. The bars were good also.

from looking at my feedback it is all good except for the few minor errors which have been stated and also that i am easily able to change in a short amount of time. although i really think that the feedback given is really vague and i think it would have helped if they have gave me a better more in-depth feedback to help my work and the way it is

What did you do and why?
I created my own website using the Wix website creator which allows you to create your own websites for free. So for this project i created a art portfolio for for myself to present my work and hold it all together in a presentable way than just showing them on a USB stick it makes it look more professional and its the first thing people would see about you online so first impressions are important. I created a Home page and started of by changing the look of it by firstly making my own background using a range of shapes and then changing the colour to red black and white because they are my favorite colours so i thought that it represents me and tells people more about me as a person.

How has my research effected my blog?

Well firstly it helped me when i was thinking about the layout so from the first three websites I had researched I decided to take the elements out of that and use that in my own website. For example on my page there are a row of images of my favourite work on the home page I took this element out of the dw website but instead of that being their favourite pieces it was their most recent projects so I took something but changed it.

Also instead of using an already made background i decided to make my own background on Photoshop from using a bunch of hexagons which are overlapping but decided to give it a unique look to me by using my favourite colours red, black and white.

I also noticed that my logo which at the time was not on my background just placed on the website (via image).

when I would scroll down my page my logo would go up as well but I wanted it fixed to my background so it would stick to the background and follow the scroll and constantly be fixed to the screen after scrolling so my logo is always visible which was also a feature I noticed on the websites I researched but they would have it in the top corners and small but I had mine big and bold in the corner which makes my logo pop more.

I also decided to add one of my previous projects of my film The Chase because I see on all the websites I researched they had films or a slide show playing in the background as the background but I already created a background I like so I thought I could just add my film as a playable option on the home page instead and my website would load quicker if it was to do this as having a film playing as you open the page slows the speed for the page to open and fully load.

What did I do well?

Well I did my background really well and it really helps my work stand out which is what I was intentionally intending to do because after I would then put my images with a dark outlining making them stand out even more and i was able to do this on Wix with the layout editor tool.

I did my logo really well and even got a few compliments on the look of it as it looks stylish modern and professional. It also goes with my background while also standing out with the red black and white (my favourite colours).

What could you improve or change?
i could have improved my websites interactiveness by including a video with features that would allow visitors that are viewing it to do maybe even a survey but in a unique video style so they awnser questions and also have a video after with audio maybe.

i would have changed the options of the image layouts because when i was reviewing my website on different screens it would be either zoomed in or out effecting the layout of my website making images bigger and making my text move to fit the size.



What have i learnt from this project?

ive learnt the basics of wix making a website inporting images of my own and using my images to fit the image i want by looking at the options and the resolutions for each area on my website such as the background which was a reccomended size of 720x1280-1080x1920

i also looked at a avriety of websites and instead of cluttering my website with multiple hyperlinks and images i kept it simple but yet interesting so i learnt how to keep my website clean and simple to use

i also learnt how to add images and also reorganize them so the ones i like go to the front and are seen first.

anyone can acces it

it cannot be scratched or damged because its digital

it can be sent to multiple people without making multiple copies

you can take it down if its contents arent up to scratch

you can keep on developing on it

you can take it all down or even make it private to yourself

can get feedback

you can give out infomation that is there so you wont have to send an email to someone about you

i like the use of a video being used in their website which helped grab my attention instantly because its unique and not many websites actually use this feature and if u interpenetrate this in my work it will make it more unique.

designing my own website

firstly i chose this template

because of its simplicity which  will allow me to take more control over it and make it how i want it to look.

firstly i wanted to change the background so i opened up photoshop and decided to create a colourful and bold background using polygons but change the colours of each one making it stand out and overall making my website stand out.

its a really simple technique but an effective one.

I then seen on the website you can add a logo so i decided to go ahead and make my own logo using photoshop again using shapes to create a bold looking logo with the letter K in the centre because my name starts with a K.

how did i create this?
 firstly i created 2 circles and then made one black and one white and overlapped them but the one infront i would lower the scale so it gave this fine circleline

i chose the purpl outlining to make my images more clear because so use a background which blends in with the background

Website templates - what can i change about them? not finished

what i would be able to add to this is maybe in the middle i could center one of my pieces and then i could maybe add my work down the sides which seem to be freely open. i could use the bold text from the center and use it over my piece in the middle so for example into the wild then my picture behind it. i would have bright colors and modern shapes added to compliment my work and center it. i will use big bold lettering. the images i could include will be creative and colorful ones.

i picked this out because already they have integrated an area especially for a video to be placed so this template will make me save time when inserting one of my own clips into the web template. i see there is alot of white back ground i could use again the use of modern colored shapes and around the clip overlapping and basically the same as before this time i could create a collage instead with the use of bright colours to cover the white areas. then i could use bold and dark lettering to really stand out on the bright background. a bright and colourful site i think would attract a lot of young teenagers because it will be urban looking.

what i liked about this is the box around the center which is centering the lettering in the middle and i also liked how the bird overlaps the box but still looks like its holding on to the box and its small detail like that i like to add into my work even if it goes unnoticed. I would change is the top part with the logo and the writing i would change that into a white colour to make it stand out more and i would bring it over to the right because the logo is over lapping with he leaf in the top left and doesn't look at neat and clear than it could. the audience for this would be maybe for people middle aged i know this because if it was aimed at a younger audience it would be more eye catching and more appealing to that age group.
